Crowd Power: Why WA is the Missing Ingredient in Your Business Strategy

As I sit here diving into Human Design for Large Business - OC16 teachings, something Ra said jumps off the page—something about the WA that suddenly clicks on a personal level.

In Human Design, the WA is the energetic structure that emerges when a group of 10 or more people come together. It’s not just a crowd—it's a collective consciousness with its own mechanics, rhythm, and material focus. It amplifies shared direction, purpose, and mainly material drive.

Just this week, I was in a deep conversation with a close friend. She's at a significant crossroads, considering leaving the corporate world to open her restaurant. She has the passion, the concept, and the talent. The questions lingering in her mind are: Where should I open it? Will people come? Who can I work with?

Then I read Ra's words: "If you want to have a successful business, open it in a place where the WA already exists." I knew I had to share that with her. And that's when I felt the inspiration to write this piece—not just for her, but for anyone building something in the material world.

Many entrepreneurs believe the old saying: "If you build it, they will come."

According to Human Design, it works better if you build it in the right field—a field where the energy of a WA (a group of 10 or more) is already active. The WA is not just a crowd—it's a collective consciousness focused on material fulfillment. It gives people that extra push to commit, engage, and buy.

Think about it. You walk down a street filled with restaurants, not even hungry, and suddenly, you're debating pasta or sushi. Or you go out for a newspaper and somehow return with a new jacket. That's the WA in action. It doesn't just amplify desire—it drives completion. You tend to finish what you started when you're inside a WA field.

This is why city planners and developers naturally cluster businesses together—restaurant rows, shopping streets, and open-air markets. It's not random; it's deeply energetic. In those environments, the WA delivers. Not just products. Not just marketing. It delivers people. Customers. Commitment. Movement. Material outcomes.

And here's something else that happened globally after the pandemic.

When COVID-19 hit, the world shifted online. People worked from home. Companies adjusted. But after a certain period, some invisible things started disintegrating—productivity, innovation, cohesion. Many didn't realize that the WA field was dismantled, hence the consequences. The energetic glue that holds workforces together began to thin out when people no longer came to work together physically – and be part of the WA.

That's why, slowly but surely, companies began calling their employees back into the office. Not necessarily full-time, but enough to reignite the WA.

  • Apple called employees back for three days a week.
  • Google and Meta followed suit with hybrid models.
  • Even Goldman Sachs, known for its intense culture, pushed hard to return to in-person work.
  • Amazon, after some delay, mandated a return to office at least three days per week.

It wasn't just about surveillance or collaboration—it was about restoring that group field that energizes people to show up, deliver, and compete. Remote work is efficient—but when people are physically apart, the energetic architecture that supports focused material action is weakened. The WA, in a very real way, makes work... work.

Suppose you're launching something—whether a restaurant, a product, a service, or a brand—go where people already gather with purpose. Let the WA work for you. Align with existing momentum. Create synergy with other businesses, zones, and community patterns. Don't just open a shop. Plug in.

On the other side of the coin, here is something equally important: as individuals, we need to know we're being conditioned by the WA, too.

That same force that helps a business thrive can also influence your personal decisions. Have you ever bought something you didn't need simply because the energy around you was buzzing with activity? That's not a lack of willpower—it's the mechanics of the WA field. Being in a WA affects your internal compass. It can amplify desire, urgency, and even the illusion of necessity.

So whether you're a business owner or a customer, it's worth remembering: The WA is real. It delivers. And it conditions. Respect it. Use it. And most importantly—stay awake inside it.

Warmly,
